I joined Great American Custom right after I graduated from college. I started as an associate production underwriter and was promoted within a year to production underwriter. My office in particular has begun a weekly competition with our step-tracking devices to see who can be the most active and obtain the most steps throughout the week. We not only are incentivized by the program itself, but we can also encourage each other because we all have access to the same tools and benefits. Before joining Great American, I lost 130 pounds and the incentives offered by our wellness program have helped me to maintain my weight and stay active.

I was specifically interested in the company’s agricultural-related divisions because of my passion for riding horses. I have been riding competitively since I was six years old and even secured an athletic scholarship to college to compete on my school’s equestrian team. Working in claims for Great American’s AgriBusiness® Division is a great fit for me because I use my interests and background to uncover facts and information that are essential in the decision making process. I also enjoyed being part of the LEAD (Learn/Excel/Achieve/Develop) Program, which gave me the opportunity to learn about all areas of the Agribusiness® Division, including processing, underwriting, claims and product development.
