Kevin Winey, Senior Claims Attorney II, Claims – Exton Office

Each issue of Environmental Insider will introduce you to members of our team and describe the unique role they play to support you and your clients.

Great American Insurance Group’s Environmental Division welcomes Kevin Winey to its Claims department as a Senior Claims Attorney II. In his role, Kevin will focus on managing environmental claims and provide analysis of current and underlying coverage issues to help minimize exposures and implement strategic resolutions.

Kevin earned a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Nazarene College and a Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law. He brings more than two decades of experience in handling complex environmental, asbestos, toxic tort claim and coverage matters to Great American. He is based out of our Exton office.

Most recently, Kevin served as assistant vice president at a leading global insurance provider, where he managed long-tail environmental and toxic tort legacy policy claims. He has extensive experience in undertaking comprehensive evaluations of claims – including analysis of all facts, policy provisions, and applying appropriate case law to formulate and implement strategies to fulfill obligations to the policyholder.

Kevin’s unique experience in underlying coverage litigation and oversight of the investigation and remediation of sites, make him an excellent addition to our team.
