Preparing for Winter Weather

As the last leaves fall from the trees, we all begin to prep for winter. The question is what kind of winter will it be? Weather forecasters at both the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Old Farmers’ Almanac are already publishing after their annual outlooks. While meteorologists will caution that it is always difficult to accurately project tomorrow let alone three months from now, it is always interesting to see what they have to say. As usual, the outlooks vary a bit from source to source. Most of the US expects to face milder temperatures, wetter than normal conditions in the Northern states and drier than normal conditions across the south.
