Jeff Gilbert promoted to Divisional Senior Vice President

Jeff Gilbert

Jeff is a graduate of Georgia State University and a veteran of the US Air Force having served from 1991 to 1995.

Jeff has been with Property & Inland Marine for 16 years after various underwriting positions with Federated Mutual & Selective Insurance Company.  He joined Great American Insurance Group as a P&IM Business Developer working with agents in Upstate and Western NY, and eventually adding Western PA.  Jeff was promoted to lead the Syracuse Profit Center. In 2020, the Syracuse and Parsippany Profit Centers were combined and formed the NY/NJ/PA Profit Center. In 2021, Jeff took over managing the Northeast Operations as Div. Vice President. Jeff holds several designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM), Associate in Claims (AIC), and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe).

Kim Paff promoted to Divisional Senior Vice President

Kim Paff

In her new role, Kim will become Property & Inland Marine’s first Strategy Officer. She will lead the Division through the corporate strategic planning and implementation processes.

Kim will continue in her role as Program Profit Center Officer, and she will continue to support operations by overseeing the Division’s Technology, Marketing, and Operations support teams. Kim is an active mentor and advocate for P&IM’s LEAN Advisory Group as well as the P&IM Emerging Professionals.

Kim joined Great American in 2001 as a co-op in Product Data Compliance (PDC). After graduation, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri to work as an underwriting trainee for Property & Inland Marine. Since that time, she held roles of increased responsibility within the Division, including moving to Denver, Colorado, as Territory Manager before returning to Cincinnati in 2011.

Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration in the Lindner Honors-PLUS program at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Finance with a focus in International Business. She holds several designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM), Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF), Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), and Associate in General Insurance (AINS).

John Lewis promoted to Divisional Vice President

John Lewis

John joined Great American in 2006 as a Business Developer Trainee in the Windsor, CT office. John held roles with increasing responsibility over the following years. John took over the leadership role for the New England Profit Center in 2018 and during that period has led growth in territory.

John earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and currently holds the CPCU and AMIM designations. He is actively involved in the local community as the Treasurer for Simsbury Soccer Club along with coaching youth sports in soccer, basketball, and baseball.

Brady Grimm promoted to Divisional Assistant Vice President

Brady Grimm

Brady joined Great American Insurance Group and the Property & Inland Marine division in 2014 as a Production Underwriting Specialist for Excess Property, after spending time at other various insurance companies in claims and marketing roles. In 2020 he joined the Residential Construction team in both an underwriting and leadership capacity. He currently oversees the Residential Construction Canadian team and is highly involved in our annual reinsurance treaty renewal process.

Brady earned his bachelor’s degree from Hanover College and has added the CRIS and SCLA Gold designations. He is actively involved in the community, recently joining the Board of Directors for Insuring the Children and is a member of the Fort Thomas Lions Club, formerly serving on the board as membership chair and had responsibility of the Social Committee.

Greg Patterson promoted to Divisional Assistant Vice President

Greg Patterson

Greg began his career as a paralegal with the Hamilton County Prosecutors office upon graduating from the University of Cincinnati. After spending a couple years aiding in the prosecution of Cincinnati’s criminals, he felt the need for a change. Claims was a natural fit and he joined the Inland Marine Division in 1999 as a Claims Trainee. After climbing the ranks as a Claims Professional, he decided to join the Trucking Division as a Claims Manager. Greg developed extensive knowledge of Motor Truck Cargo coverages and claims while in Trucking and in 2012 we recruited him to rejoin Property & Inland Marine to supplement our expertise in this area of our book of business. Greg was promoted to Claims Director in 2020 and has honed his claim management skills while recruiting, training, and expanding our MTC teams. He realized at the end of last year that he had the unique opportunity to oversee and be responsible for the most employees within P&IM Claims and has done a great job creating a full staff from all sorts of backgrounds that include FIS, CCO trainees, logics sales employees, truckers, TPAs, etc.

Greg earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Cincinnati. He has also earned his CPCU, ARM, AIC, AMIM and PTC 1, 2 & 3 designations. He was also very active with the Great American Speakers club (Toastmasters), earning Advance Communicator Silver and Advance Leader Bronze.

Matt Beaver promoted to Divisional Assistant Vice President

Matt Beaver

Matt began his career with Great American in 2008 as a Claim Representative in our Denver office. He has earned several promotions since then, most recently in 2021 when he was promoted to Claims Director. Matt routinely receives compliments from our customers and internal partners for his exceptional customer service efforts and was recipient of the Outstanding Claim Professional Award at the 2018 PLRB Claims Conference. In addition to managing a claims team, Matt’s duties include heading our vendor relations initiatives and working closely with internal and external customers.

Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of North Carolina Asheville. He also holds several professional designations, including: CPCU, AIC, AIC-M, AMIM, AINS, PTC 1, 2 & 3, CRIS, and FRCS. Matt is always willing to help with any issue or question that presents itself, is active in PLRB, and has worked on numerous projects outside of the claims field in an effort to build relationships.
