Two-Factor Authentication

Protecting your privacy is a top priority at Great American Life. That is why we added a security measure called two-factor authentication when logging into your online account.

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication is a two-step process for identifying someone's identity. It's commonly used by financial service companies to help ensure only authorized users can access account information.

What does this mean for you?

When you log into your account at, you will see the below window asking you to select how you'd like to receive an authentication code - either by voice call or text.

Once you select your desired option, the authentication code will be sent to you. You will see the following window where you can enter the code and proceed to your online account.

In order to receive the authentication code, we must have your current phone number on record. If you need to verify or update your phone number, please call us at 800-854-3649. Our hours are Monday – Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. ET.
