Annual Mystic Herring Run and Paddle 5k

With our special passion for Environmental protection, Great American Environmental Division was a proud sponsor of the 23^rd annual Mystic Herring Run and Paddle 5k this past May in Boston, MA.

The Mystic River Watershed Association is a charitable organization that seeks to protect and restore the Mystic River in Boston, Massachusetts.

Team members Heather Boyd, Senior Production Underwriting Manager and William Houldin, Production Underwriter, lined up to race with over 350 participants including members of the insurance industry and environmental sector, the local community, and race enthusiasts. The competition was tough, and our very own Heather Boyd had an outstanding race – coming in second place in her age group!

This year’s event successfully raised an all-time high of $41,000, which will go towards restoration and protection of the Mystic River, benefitting both present and future generations.

Thank you to the Mystic River Watershed association for hosting a wonderful event and to all of those who volunteered their time to make it possible.
