Meet Our Valued Team - Heather Boyd
Heather Boyd, Master Underwriter, Boston Office Manager; National Underwriting
In effort to ensure we are the insurance company of choice for environmental insurance brokers, it is important we establish a strong and dynamic team. Each issue of Environmental Insider will introduce you to members of our team and describe the unique role they play to support you and your clients.
Heather Boyd is a production specialist for the Environmental Division. She is a part of our national underwriting team, who work to provide environmental insurance products and services to current and prospective clients. As the manager of our recently opened Boston office, Boyd has already launched our presence in the New England area with great success.
Prior to joining Great American, Boyd has worked extensively in the environmental market. She gained her knowledge through a career in environmental underwriting, consulting and remediation.
When asked about the opportunity to lead our Boston efforts, Boyd said, “Knowing the nationwide opportunities, but most importantly, the team organization and collaborative culture, I knew this was the best carrier to grow my career with and continue to serve the greater New England area.”
With a strong team who further complement Great American’s industry knowledge and experience, Boyd looks forward to the growth of this team and the entire Environmental Division.
“Through the culture of Great American, we are able to provide a unique level of service complimented by our specialized expertise and significant knowledge in the field,” Boyd said.
While nationally focused as a division, Boyd appreciates the opportunities this affords to her brokers and their clients on a local level. She is able to support both current and potential brokers in Boston by providing customized products without sacrificing the level of service they have come to appreciate.
Boyd has also found the collaborative culture directly contributes to the service-oriented culture Great American strives for, whether it’s mentoring a junior underwriter on development opportunities or working with the Executive Underwriting team to craft a manuscript that is tailored to the particular needs of an insured.
As an additional benefit of the collaborative culture, Boyd said, “Even though we’re a new office for the division, the onboarding process was significantly accelerated thanks to this collaborative process – we work closely with each office on a daily basis.”
Boyd is a strong addition to the team who will help the Environmental Division achieve the ultimate goal to provide products and services which enable businesses to effectively and efficiently manage risk. Heather is also excited to contribute to our industry community as well, so keep an eye out for Boyd at future industry events – as both attendee and presenter!
