Wrapping up 2020
How do you define success? After a year like 2020, it personally felt like making it through each day was worthy of the title “success”! As an insurance carrier, we measure success most often by written premium in conjunction with loss experience and expenses.
While it was impossible to predict the impact of the pandemic on our business, I am delighted to share that our Property & Inland Marine Division experienced a record-breaking year; increasing our Division’s gross written premium by 11%. This success is something we could not have achieved without YOU, our valued producers. Together, we navigated working from home, meeting virtually, and market volatility. Without a doubt, our Divisional motto Built on Relationships. Focused on Solutions.® was put to the ultimate test in 2020.
In addition to our constant goal of writing profitable business, our 2021 resolutions are:
- Keep current relationships strong with virtual meetings until physical visits are safe.
- Grow in geographic regions that meet our underwriting appetite and lack representation.
- Seek opportunities to increase ease of doing business while not sacrificing quality of risk selection.
- Reward the continuing education efforts of our employees.
Please accept our heartfelt appreciation for the part you played in helping us achieve fantastic results in 2020!
