I find the insurance industry and my work within Annuity Claims extremely interesting. As a Claims Representative, I have had the opportunity to earn two professional designations through LOMA and take seminars through Great American University since I started with the company in 2016.
Great American puts a tremendous emphasis on employee development. There are so many opportunities to take charge of your career, whether it be through seminars, or networking and forming relationships. I recently participated in Forth@Fourth, one of the company’s early career programs. The experience has provided a terrific networking and learning opportunity for me. I’ve gained knowledge about all of Great American’s lines of business and had the opportunity to do a group project with employees from different departments within our company.
One word that best describes working at Great American is flexibility. I have a lot of autonomy in my work day. While I do have production goals to meet, I’m able to determine my own work schedule and structure the tasks within my day as I see fit. I also know my work is supported by leaders at all levels within the company. They are easily accessible and make time to have a conversation with you. We have a bi-monthly panel discussion with supervisors and senior leaders, and I am able to participate in lunches where leaders join us to continue the discussion on a more personal level.
