Harris Shum
Senior Manager, Specialty Lines Underwriting
Mr. Harris Shum is the Senior Manager, Specialty Lines Underwriting for Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for managing and underwriting the Specialty Lines portfolio to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
He has been in the insurance industry for more than 20 years and is well experienced in Financial Lines Underwriting which includes Directors and Officers Liability, Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice, IPO Prospectus Liability, Financial Institutions Bond and Crime, etc. Prior to this appointment, Harris was holding regional roles with various reinsurance and insurance companies, International Medical Malpractice Specialist Mutual, Credit Rating Agency, etc.
Harris holds a Masters’ Degree in Finance and a Bachelors’ Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering both awarded by The University of Hong Kong. He is also a Senior Associate of ANZIIF.
