Sunbelt Recap

July 2023 marked the 22nd Annual Sunbelt Builders Show and the 14th year that Great American Insurance Group has sponsored the keynote speaker. We aim to provide a speaker each year that inspires Sunbelt attendees, and Bob Phillips did just that! 

For almost half a century, Bob Phillips has been traveling back and forth across the state of Texas, recording his unique findings in the Lone Star State. Bob shares the heartwarming stories of inspirational, everyday Texans on his program "Texas Country Reporter." Kicking off in 1972, "Texas Country Reporter" is the longest-running and independently produced TV show in the country. We enjoyed hearing how Bob got his start in reporting and how he shifted the typically negative news narrative into something that would uplift others and showcase the good in humanity. 

In addition to sponsoring the keynote speaker, we were thrilled to have our own booth on the trade show floor where we could connect homebuilders with our appointed Texas agents. We also had the honor of being 1 of 6 sponsors who distributed awards onstage at the Star Awards celebration. In 1992, the Texas Association of Builders launched the Texas Star Awards: the only statewide tribute to excellence in the home building industry. The Star Awards showcase the outstanding work of builders, remodelers, architects, designers, sales professionals, marketing professionals, construction professionals, and industry leaders in Texas and the Southwest!

We thoroughly enjoyed the quality time with our agents and meeting homebuilders from all parts of Texas. We look forward to sponsoring the keynote speaker again, at the 2024 Sunbelt Builders Show in Ft Worth, Texas!
