Chong Ai Mei
Assistant Director, Marine SEA
Ms. Chong Ai Mei leads the Marine Underwriting for Southeast Asia of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the management and underwriting of the Marine portfolio in Southeast Asia to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
She has over 23 years of industry experience with more than 10 years of underwriting Marine risks, mainly on Hull and Cargo. Prior to this appointment, Ai Mei was the Marine Hull Underwriter with QBE Insurance. She started her insurance career with an international broking house handling Marine broking and client servicing.
Ai Mei holds a Diploma in Risk and Insurance Management and is an Associate member of The Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
Stephanie Hong
Senior Manager, Marine SEA
Ms. Stephanie Hong is the Senior Manager for Marine Cargo Underwriting for Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, she is responsible for managing and underwriting the Marine Cargo portfolio to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry focusing on Marine Underwriting. Prior to this appointment, she was the Regional Marine Manager with Starr International Insurance. She also spent 14 years with Federal Insurance Company handling Marine Cargo and Freight Forwarders’ Liability.
Stephanie has the Certification in Commercial General Insurance and holds a Diploma in Business Administration & Marketing.
Belinda Loke
Manager, Marine SEA
Ms. Belinda Loke is the Manager for Marine Cargo underwriting for Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. She is one of the pioneer employees and is responsible for managing and underwriting the Marine Cargo portfolio to ensure profitability and quality service.
She has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to this appointment, she was the Assistant Manager (Cargo Underwriting) with QBE Insurance International for 11 Years. She also spent 10 years with Winterthur Insurance handling Cargo Risk.
Belinda obtained her Senior Associate CIP from Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and holds a Diploma in General Insurance.
Brian Liew
Manager, Marine SEA
Mr. Brian Liew is the Manager, Marine Hull underwriting for Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for managing and underwriting the Marine Hull portfolio to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
He has been in the insurance industry for more than 15 years of which more than 12 years specializing in Marine underwriting. Prior to this appointment, he was a Marine Underwriter with The Shipowners’ Mutual P&I Association.
Brian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (with Distinction), majoring in Economics and Finance awarded by Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He has also obtained his Certification in General Insurance.
Ice Shing
Assistant Director, North Asia Market
Ms. Ice Shing leads the Marine Underwriting for North Asia Market of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the management and underwriting the Marine portfolio in North Asia to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
She has more than 12 years of experience in the insurance industry focusing on Marine Underwriting with 6 years stationed in Hong Kong. Prior to this appointment, she was the Marine Underwriter with SART Underwriting Limited. She also spent three years with Kiln Hong Kong Limited underwriting Marine Cargo business.
Ice holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (First Class Honors), majoring in Risk Management and Finance awarded by the University of Hong Kong. She has also obtained her Advanced Diploma in Insurance, ACII.
Ho Wing Hoong
Senior Manager, P&C Underwriting
Mr. Ho Wing Hoong leads the Property & Engineering and Motor Underwriting for Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for managing and underwriting the Property & Engineering and Motor portfolio to ensure revenue and profitable growth while managing a team of underwriters.
Ho has more than 25 years of regional experience in both the reinsurance and general insurance industry with risks emanating from the Asia region comprising of Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia (Middle East). Prior to this appointment, Ho was with a reinsurance company for a tenure of 12 years guiding teams in delivering high-quality technical underwriting services.
Angeline Lim
Manager, P&C Underwriting
Ms. Angeline Lim is the Property & Casualty Underwriting Manager of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, she is responsible for managing and underwriting the Casualty portfolio to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
She has more than 10 years of experience in the insurance industry focusing on casualty underwriting. Prior to this appointment, she was the Casualty Underwriter with AXA Insurance and Chubb Insurance, guiding teams in delivering high-quality technical underwriting services to clients and intermediaries.
Angeline holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Honors), majoring in Business that is awarded by the University of London and has also obtained her Certification in General Insurance.
Ng Choon Haur
Manager, Distribution (P&C Underwriting)
Mr. Ng Choon Haur is the Distribution Property & Casualty Underwriter of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for managing and underwriting the Property & Casualty portfolio within the Agency/Financial Advisor channel to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
He has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry focusing on Property & Casualty underwriting. Prior to this appointment, he was the Senior Underwriter, Commercial Lines for Etiqa Insurance and was also with Liberty Insurance as their Assistant Underwriting Manager.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, majoring in Civil & Environmental Engineering awarded by Nanyang Technological University. He has also obtained his Certification in General Insurance.
Harris Shum
Senior Manager, Specialty Lines Underwriting
Mr. Harris Shum is the Senior Manager, Specialty Lines Underwriting for Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for managing and underwriting the Specialty Lines portfolio to ensure revenue and profitable growth.
He has been in the insurance industry for more than 20 years and is well experienced in Financial Lines Underwriting which includes Directors and Officers Liability, Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice, IPO Prospectus Liability, Financial Institutions Bond and Crime, etc. Prior to this appointment, Harris was holding regional roles with various reinsurance and insurance companies, International Medical Malpractice Specialist Mutual, Credit Rating Agency, etc.
Harris holds a Masters’ Degree in Finance and a Bachelors’ Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering both awarded by The University of Hong Kong. He is also a Senior Associate of ANZIIF.
Lim Meng Juan
Senior Manager, Marine Claims
Mr. Lim Meng Juan leads the Marine Claims for Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for the claims management of the Marine classes of business.
He has more than 15 years of experience in the Insurance Industry focusing on Claims across the Asia Pacific Region with his main expertise in Marine field. Prior to this appointment, he was heading the Claims team and providing comprehensive claims solutions and consultation in his previous companies.
He has a Graduate Diploma in Maritime Law and Arbitration awarded by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has obtained his navigational qualifications from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
