Chee Keng Koon
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Chee Keng Koon is the appointed Chief Executive Officer of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic leadership, staff development and operational management of the Singapore operation in meeting its growth objectives for all classes of business.
Mr. Chee has over 29 years of experience in leadership and management roles in the insurance industry. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Chee was the Chief Executive Officer of QBE Insurance (International) Limited, Singapore Branch and an Indonesia joint venture company. In addition, he was the Marine Regional General Manager for the Asia Region. Mr. Chee was also a shareholder under a joint venture arrangement with QBE Insurance (International) Limited when QBE Marine Underwriting Agency Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in 2001.
With his diverse experience and appreciation of the dynamics in the marine business and the business world, Mr. Chee transformed his previous engagements’ Marine insurance portfolio from a relatively small business to a reputable market leader in Singapore and Asia. He also led QBE Insurance (International) Limited, Singapore Branch to be the best non-life insurance company as awarded by World Finance.
Mr. Chee holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors degree in Insurance Management and is a Certified Insurance Professional by the ANZ Institute of Insurance & Finance. He is also conferred as IBF Distinguished Fellow by The Institute of Banking & Finance.
Vanessa Teo
Chief Financial and Operating Officer
Ms. Vanessa Teo is appointed as the Chief Financial and Operating Officer of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. She is to ensure that Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch is the first choice for customers and investors, by balancing financial integrity and supporting the future growth of the business and its people to achieve operational excellence. She will provide leadership in Finance, IT, Human Resources, Risk Management, Compliance, Policy Administration and Administration and Corporate Services matters.
Ms. Teo has over 23 years of extensive experience in senior roles running teams in the insurance industry in Singapore and Asia. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Teo was the CFO & COO of QBE Insurance (International) Limited, Singapore Branch and was also involved in Asia Finance related matters. In this role, she led the development and delivery of finance strategy, while building a collaborative team within the organization, and building consistency in quality, methodology and reporting. In addition, she worked through issues with auditors and executives by delivering value and insight to the business. Ms. Teo has experience working as a Business Consultant of the Insurance Australia Group (IAG) based in Australia. She was also the Head of Finance with ACE Insurance Ltd and GE Insurance Solutions. Her insurance career began as a Regional Internal Auditor with American Insurance Group (AIG) auditing both life and non-life insurance operations within the AIG group of companies in Asia.
Ms. Teo holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School and was admitted Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) by The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). She is a qualified Fellow, Chartered Accountant of Singapore by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) by Life Office Management Association, Inc. and emplaced as an ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant.
Ian Lee
Director, Risk Management & Compliance
Mr. Ian Lee is the appointed Director, Risk Management & Compliance of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for shaping the risk management and compliance framework and culture within the Singapore operation. He will assist the CEO to lead the operation in meeting its regulatory compliance obligations.
Mr. Lee has over 10 years of experience within the insurance risk management and compliance area and he has developed extensive knowledge in ERM, capital modelling and risk management framework. Prior to this appointment, he was the Manager, Risk Management of QBE Insurance (International) Limited, Singapore Branch. He was responsible for the entire risk management and compliance function within the company. Mr. Lee also spent seven years with the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Insurance Supervision Department having held the position of Deputy Director.
Mr. Lee holds Bachelor’s degrees (BSc/BA) with Nanyang Technological University and a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques with the Institute of Actuaries (UK). He also holds Certificates in Life Insurance and Personal General Insurance with the Singapore College of Insurance.

Chris Ang
Director, P&C Underwriting
Mr. Chris Ang is the appointed Director, P&C Underwriting of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he oversees the strategic direction of underwriting, portfolio management and professional development of the Property & Casualty Underwriting Division. He assists the CEO in leading the operation in meeting the strategic growth objectives for the P&C business.
Mr. Ang has over 15 years of experience in the General Insurance Industry as an accomplished Underwriter across the various General Insurance classes of business. Prior to his appointment with the Company, he was the Head of Casualty for AXA Insurance Pte Ltd. He had also accumulated his wealth of underwriting experience previously while serving with Chubb Insurance Singapore Limited, MSIG Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd, XL Insurance Company SE (Singapore Branch), Tenet Sompo Insurance Pte Ltd, Chartis (AIG) and NTUC Income Insurance Cooperative.
Mr. Ang holds a Bachelor of Science (Business) awarded by the University of London. He holds a Diploma in General Insurance and Risk Management as well as Certificates in General Insurance, Health Insurance, M5 and M9.
Daryatmo Oei
Assistant Director, Information Technology
Mr. Daryatmo Oei is appointed as Assistant Director, Information Technology of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore branch. In this role, he is responsible to provide leadership in the Information Technology environment, including effective oversight of technology and cyber risks. Mr. Oei will assist the CEO and CFOO in establishing and maintaining a sound technology risk management framework and strategy, managing technology risk based on the established framework, ensuring standards and procedures are implemented effectively.
Mr Oei has 21 years of experience in the IT area, with 10 years spent in insurance industry holding various roles such as project management, system implementation, training, IT operations, vendor management, etc. Prior to his appointment, Dary worked with Aviva Asia Pte Ltd, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and Allianz Insurance Company Singapore Pte Ltd. Mr Oei also spent some time working as the IT Head in Indonesia and supporting the Asia region.
Mr Oei holds a Master’s in information technology from the National University of Singapore and Bachelor of Management from the University of Tarumangara, Jakarta. He also holds Certificate Information System Audit (CISA).
Lim Wen Hwei
Assistant Director, Claims
Ms. Lim Wen Hwei is the appointed Assistant Director, Claims of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic leadership in claims management within the Singapore Operations. She oversees the claims management for both the Marine and Property & Casualty classes of business. Her responsibility includes driving best practices and delivering the best claims services to our clients.
Ms. Lim has over 19 years of experience in the General Insurance Industry as an accomplished Claims professional managing and handling commercial claims while leading teams. Prior to her appointment with the Company, she was the Head of Claims for Etiqa Insurance Pte Ltd. Through her years of experience with companies like Direct Asia Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd, HL Assurance Pte Ltd, AXA Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd and even with a Legal firm, she had also held roles of similar capacity.
Ms. Lim holds a Bachelor of Science in Computational Science and Applied Mathematics awarded by the National University of Singapore. She holds the Certificate in General Insurance and has also obtained Certification in The Law Relating to Motor Insurance Claims Handling in Singapore, Professional Certification in Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) I, and other certifications.
