Singapore Branch Leadership Team

Mr. Chee Keng Koon is the appointed Chief Executive Officer of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic leadership, staff development and operational management of the Singapore operation in meeting its growth objectives for all classes of business.

Mr. Chee has over 29 years of experience in leadership and management roles in the insurance industry. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Chee was the Chief Executive Officer of QBE Insurance (International) Limited, Singapore Branch and an Indonesia joint venture company. In addition, he was the Marine Regional General Manager for the Asia Region. Mr. Chee was also a shareholder under a joint venture arrangement with QBE Insurance (International) Limited when QBE Marine Underwriting Agency Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in 2001.

With his diverse experience and appreciation of the dynamics in the marine business and the business world, Mr. Chee transformed his previous engagements’ Marine insurance portfolio from a relatively small business to a reputable market leader in Singapore and Asia. He also led QBE Insurance (International) Limited, Singapore Branch to be the best non-life insurance company as awarded by World Finance.

Mr. Chee holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors degree in Insurance Management and is a Certified Insurance Professional by the ANZ Institute of Insurance & Finance. He is also conferred as IBF Distinguished Fellow by The Institute of Banking & Finance.

Ms. Vanessa Teo is appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. She is to ensure that Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch is the first choice for customers and investors, by balancing financial integrity and supporting the future growth of the business and its people to achieve operational excellence. She provides leadership in Finance, IT, Human Resources, Risk Management, Compliance, Policy Administration and Administration and Corporate Services matters, in addition to providing strategic leadership in spearheading initiatives to promote innovation, enhance our business development efforts and drive organization growth.

Ms. Teo has over 25 years of extensive experience in senior roles running teams in the insurance industry in Singapore and Asia. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Teo was the CFO & COO of QBE Insurance (International) Limited, Singapore Branch and was also involved in Asia Finance related matters. In this role, she led the development and delivery of finance strategy, while building a collaborative team within the organization, and building consistency in quality, methodology and reporting. In addition, she worked through issues with auditors and executives by delivering value and insight to the business. Ms. Teo has experience working as a Business Consultant of the Insurance Australia Group (IAG) based in Australia. She was also the Head of Finance with ACE Insurance Ltd and GE Insurance Solutions. Her insurance career began as a Regional Internal Auditor with American Insurance Group (AIG) auditing both life and non-life insurance operations within the AIG group of companies in Asia.

Ms. Teo holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School and was admitted Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) by The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). She is a qualified Fellow, Chartered Accountant of Singapore by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) by Life Office Management Association, Inc. and emplaced as an ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant.

Mr. Ian Lee is the Senior Director, Head of Risk Management & Compliance of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for overseeing the company's risk management and compliance framework and promoting a strong risk culture. He works closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO and to support the organization in meeting its regulatory and compliance obligations.

Ian has more than 10 years of experience in insurance risk management and compliance, with extensive knowledge in enterprise risk management (ERM), capital modelling and risk management frameworks. Prior to joining Great American, he was the Manager, Risk Management at QBE Insurance Singapore, where he was responsible for the company's risk management and compliance functions. He also spent seven years with the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Insurance Supervision Department, serving as Deputy Director.

Ian holds a Bachelor (BSc/BA) degree from Nanyang Technological University and a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques from the Institute of Actuaries (UK). He also holds Certificates in Life Insurance and Personal General Insurance from the Singapore College of Insurance.

Mr. Heng Shoon Kwang is the Senior Director, Head of Distribution of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership for distribution and business development within the Singapore operation. He works closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO to lead the distribution team and channels, including the agency and financial adviser frameworks, to achieve the company's revenue and growth objectives across all lines of business.

Heng has more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in sales, distribution and business development. Prior to joining Great American, he was the Head of Agency at Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., where he was responsible for managing the agency and financial adviser portfolio and driving agency productivity and business growth. He has also held a variety of roles in business development, corporate sales, agency management and employee benefits underwriting with Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (Pte.) Limited, American International Group (AIG) and American Assurance Company, Ltd.

Heng holds a Bachelor of Banking & Finance/Economics degree from Western Michigan University. He is a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) awarded by the Life Office Management Association, Inc., and holds Certificates in General Insurance, Health Insurance and Marine Insurance Underwriting from the Singapore College of Insurance.

Mr. Moonkee Choi is the Senior Director, Head of Korea Market of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership in underwriting, portfolio management and professional development for the Korean Market. He works closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO to support the company's growth objectives and strengthening its market presence in Korea.

Moonkee has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in Marine insurance, underwriting, claims and management. Prior to joining Great American, he was the Head of Marine & Channel Management at ACE American Fire & Marine Insurance Company in Korea. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in Cargo and Hull insurance, as well as Casualty and Engineering lines.

Moonkee holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Myongji University. He also holds a qualification in Technical Insurance Practice issued by the Chartered Insurance Institute (equivalent to a CII Diploma) and is a certified Loss Adjuster under Article 144 (Paragraph 2) of the Rules for Operation of Insurance Supervisory Regulations issued by the Insurance Supervisory Board.

Mr. Larry Kwok is the Senior Director, Head of Marine Asia (excluding the Korean market) of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for leading the underwriting, portfolio management and professional development of the Marine business across Southeast Asia and North Asia (excluding Korea market). He works closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO to support the company’s growth objectives and to strengthen its market presence across the region.

Larry has more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in Marine underwriting and management. He began his insurance career with Jardine Insurance Brokers and subsequently expanded his marine liability expertise as a Claims Executive with one of the world's largest P&I Clubs. Prior to joining Great American, he held senior underwriting and leadership positions with Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance, ACE Insurance and SART Specialty Limited. As Managing Director of SART Specialty Limited, he was responsible for leading the overall operation and providing technical Marine underwriting and business development leadership across the Asia Pacific region.

Larry holds a Bachelor of Business in Transport and Logistics Management from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Manchester Metropolitan University, and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Maritime and Transportation Law from the City University of Hong Kong. He is also a Senior Associate of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).

Mr. Chris Ang is the Director, Head of P&C Underwriting of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for leading the underwriting, portfolio management and professional development of the Property & Casualty Underwriting Division, supporting the company's growth objectives and strengthening its P&C business across the region. He works closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO to support the company's strategic growth objectives and strengthen the P&C business across the region.

Chris has more than 15 years of experience in the general insurance industry, specializing in underwriting across various Property and Casualty lines of business. Prior to joining Great American, he was the Head of Casualty at AXA Insurance Pte Ltd. He has also held underwriting positions with Chubb Insurance Singapore Limited, MSIG Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd, XL Insurance Company SE (Singapore Branch), Tenet Sompo Insurance Pte Ltd, Chartis (AIG) and NTUC Income Insurance Cooperative.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science (Business) degree from the University of London. He also holds a Diploma in General Insurance and Risk Management, as well as Certificates in General Insurance, Health Insurance, M5 and M9.

Mr. Daryatmo Oei is the Director, Head of Information Technology of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for providing leadership in the Information Technology function, including the effective oversight of technology and cyber risks. He works closely with Deputy CEO to establish and maintain a sound technology risk management framework and strategy, ensuring technology risks are effectively managed and that technology standards and procedures are implemented across the organization.

Dary has more than 21 years of experience in information technology, including over 10 years in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Great American, he held various roles in project management, system implementation, training, IT operations and vendor management with Aviva Asia Pte Ltd, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and Allianz Insurance Company Singapore Pte Ltd. He also served as IT Head in Indonesia and provided regional technology support across Asia.

Dary has more than 21 years of experience in information technology, including over 10 years in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Great American, he held various roles in project management, system implementation, training, IT operations and vendor management with Aviva Asia Pte Ltd, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and Allianz Insurance Company Singapore Pte Ltd. He also served as IT Head in Indonesia and provided regional technology support across Asia.

Mr. Lim Meng Juan is the Director, Head of Claims of Great American Insurance Company, Singapore Branch. In his role, he is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the Claims Division, overseeing claims management, governance, quality assurance, and service delivery standards across all lines of business. He works closely with CEO and Deputy CEO to drive technical excellence, operational effectiveness, and fair and timely claims resolution.

Meng Juan brings close to two decades of experience in insurance and reinsurance claims across the Asia-Pacific region. He has developed extensive expertise in marine and specialty lines claims. Throughout his career, he has held senior claims leadership positions with global insurers, Lloyd's market participants, and a leading reinsurance broker. His experience also includes contract wording advisory work at Guy Carpenter, providing him with valuable insight into underwriting intent, market practice, and claims risk management.

Meng Juan holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Law and Arbitration from the National University of Singapore and has completed executive education programs at NUS Business School. He also possesses navigational qualifications awarded by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
