Equine Professional Services Liability: A Must Have

As someone who works in both underwriting and the equine industry, I’ve reviewed a lot of coverage forms. Great American’s Equine Professional Services Liability Endorsement (EPSL) stands out as one of the few options that truly encompasses the risks professionals face when their work goes beyond basic farm operations.

EPSL fills a key gap by covering financial loss and defense costs from wrongful acts tied to equine services. Unlike standard farm liability, it addresses risks that come from professional expertise, not just physical injury or property damage. For equine professionals, it’s coverage that fits the work we do.

This endorsement provides coverage for actual or alleged errors, omissions, or misstatements if you're judging a show, training horses, leading clinics, or hosting personal development retreats with equine.

There’s also an optional Equine Sale Coverage that protects against economic loss from leasing, selling, or purchasing horses, and applies whether you’re acting as owner, broker, or negotiator. This is available for everyone involved in horse sales, whether casually or as a business.

Coverage limits range from $25,000 to $250,000.

This endorsement isn’t just smart, it’s practical and helps those in the equestrian space obtain peace of mind.

Availability varies by state, so it’s worth checking with your agent.
