Coming Soon: ClaimStartNow – FNOL Made Easier

We’re excited to introduce ClaimStartNow, a new First Notice of Loss (FNOL) portal experience designed to make submitting claims faster, more intuitive, and more accurate for our agents.

This upcoming enhancement will allow agents to report Equine and Agribusiness losses directly through the portal using a guided, step-by-step, and streamlined digital process. With structured prompts tailored by loss type, built-in fields for key details like address and horse information, and automatic policy validation that reduces redundant data entry, ClaimStartNow is built to simplify the process and help ensure complete and accurate submissions from the start.

Our goal is simple: make it easier than ever to initiate claims — saving time, reducing back-and-forth, and helping us achieve resolution faster for our customers.

Stay tuned for more details in the coming months as we prepare to roll out ClaimStartNow.

Florida FIGA Emergency Surcharge Expiring

An important update has been issued regarding the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (FIGA) 1% emergency surcharge. FIGA has announced that the current 1% surcharge will officially expire on October 1, 2026. The surcharge will continue to apply to all applicable policies, both new and renewal, through September 30, 2026. Beginning October 1, 2026, the surcharge will no longer be assessed on Florida policies.

This change means that, for now, Florida policies will no longer include a FIGA surcharge once the new effective date is reached. However, it’s important to note that FIGA assessments are determined by the State of Florida and may be reinstated in the future if needed.

The early sunset of the surcharge is a positive development, largely due to a relatively quiet 2025 hurricane season, which allowed FIGA to pay off its bond obligations ahead of schedule.

We will continue to monitor any future updates related to FIGA assessments and communicate changes as they arise.

IHO/RHO Quoter Now Live By: Caren Crane

We're excited to share that the IHO (Individual Horse Owner) and RHO (Racehorse Owner) Quoter is now live. The new quoter, available through the Agent Portal, allows agents appointed with AgriBusiness® to quote and bind eligible IHO and RHO policies directly, making the process faster and easier for both agents and customers. By reducing manual touchpoints, business can move from quote to bind more efficiently.

Getting to this point has taken a lot of planning, development, testing, and collaboration, and we're excited to finally put the tool in the hands of our agency partners.

This launch is an important step in the growth of our equine-farm products and creates a strong foundation for future enhancements.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this launch possible and to our agents and insureds for your continued partnership and support.

With the IHO/RHO Quoter now live, our focus has shifted to short-term Horse Shows, and we're excited to continue building on this momentum.

Building a Better Risk Picture

When submitting a property application, providing the year built and square footage for every building is essential to the underwriting process. These details play a critical role in evaluating risk, estimating replacement cost, and assessing Insurance-to-Value (ITV).

Incomplete building information often requires additional follow-up during underwriting, which can delay the quoting process and impact turnaround times. Accurate property characteristics help ensure buildings are valued appropriately, an important factor when claim settlements are determined. In the event of a covered loss, the amount of insurance carried is compared to the property's full replacement cost, making accurate valuation key to avoiding potential coverage gaps.

By including the year built and square footage for all structures upfront, agents can help facilitate more efficient underwriting, support accurate coverage decisions, and create a smoother experience for both insureds and underwriters. Soon we will be going through our files to update our systems with this information. We will provide more details of this effort in a follow-up communication.
