Palm Beach International Boat Show
This past March I had the opportunity to attend the West Palm Beach Boat Show. I’ve been in the Marine Claims industry for almost seventeen years now and this was my first time attending.
I attended a seminar that included great discussions regarding crew, both from an educational perspective, and from a mental health perspective. It was very interesting to hear different ideas from both captains that were there, as well as the crew.
I was able to meet with Ron Millardo from Cooper Capital. I’ve worked with Cooper Capital for a long time and was pleased to meet Ron in person. Cooper Capital is a salvage vendor we use to sell boats that were total losses as a result of a claim. Through this meeting I was able to get clarification on steps we can take to make the salvage setup process smoother and build trust to strengthen our working relationship moving forward.
I also had the opportunity to meet with several yacht brokers I work with, to discuss claims I currently have. It was great to meet with them in person and go over the status of the claim and the plans to move it forward.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and a great way to build trust and relationships with those I work with outside of the claims department.
