Great American begins writing Fidelity / Crime insurance.
1998
We launched CrimeInsurance.com in March, and it continues to be actively used today. In 2024, there were over 90,000 visits to CrimeInsurance.com.

We started our electronic underwriting platform.
The Evolution of Our Coverage
In April 2002, we began writing Fiduciary Dishonesty policies. Fiduciary Dishonesty policies provide Investment Advisors with the coverage limits required by ERISA.
In January 2004, we began writing Kidnap, Ransom & Extortion Insurance. These policies provide protection against security risks for individuals and a variety of organizations domestically in the United States and around the world.

In January 2016, we started our Fine Art program. From antique furniture and contemporary art to rare books and wine, each collection is unique. Fine Art Insurance helps ensure these valuable pieces are safeguarded against loss, theft, or damage.
In January 2018, we began writing small business as crime insurance is crucial for their protection. The Fidelity / Crime Division offers a streamlined crime insurance solution tailored to help protect small businesses with fewer than 250 employees.
In January 2019, we began issuing policies on a new proprietary form - Comprehensive Asset Protection Policy - CAPP. This modern commercial crime policy is designed to protect businesses and organizations, small and large, from crime-related losses.
2020
January marked the 25th anniversary of our operations.

In June, Stephanie Hoboth was named Divisional President.
