As a special way to give back to the community and spread holiday cheer, members of Great American Environmental Division teamed up to contribute a personal donation to several local charities this season.

Exton Office

Our Exton-based team continued the holiday spirit by donating to Home of the Sparrow.

Home of the Sparrow is a non-profit organization currently providing transitional shelter, affordable housing, rapid re-housing, and supportive services that address the core issues of homelessness. The organization’s mission is to provide hope, opportunity and support that empowers women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Great American admires the work and diligent efforts Home of the Sparrow provides to improve the lives of many women in our community.

“When thinking of the vast number of women still in need, our team feels deeply grateful for the courage and commitment brought forth by the staff at Home of the Sparrow. We feel compelled to support such a worthy cause and the continuation of its mission.” – Monica Lapato, Production Underwriting Specialist

We look forward to seeing the continued progress toward solving homelessness and creating better futures for women in our community and their children.

New York Office

This winter, members from our New York office took part in Hour Children’s donation program based in Long Island City.

“Around the holidays we typically think of the closest people in our lives, but often lose sight of those who are most vulnerable in our communities. This season, our team came together to support the mission of Hour Children. As we move into the new year, we will continue to look for opportunities to support the vulnerable members of our community.” – Walter Holm, Underwriter

Hour Children is a non-sectarian organization that assists incarcerated women and continues to provide the crucial post-release services that prevent recidivism after their release. The organization begins working with women while they are still incarcerated, bringing their children to visit, and offering the mothers advocacy, parenting and domestic violence support groups and counseling to ease their transition to reunification with their children. Today, Hour Children is a community of eight residences, housing 75 families with children from infancy to 21 years.

Our team is thrilled to continue our support for local charities in 2021!
