As a special celebration of our team’s success, Great American Environmental Division had the opportunity to host an internal team bonding event.

This past month, our Exton office jumped on the trendy bandwagon and took part in an axe throwing adventure at Bury the Hatchet. This hands-on bonding, learning and engaging experience was the perfect activity to encourage team members to step outside their comfort zones, try something new and incorporate a little fun outside the office!

What’s axe throwing without some friendly competition?

The team was split into two groups, completing a total of four intense rounds: traditional, one-handed, individual and underhand axe throwing. Lisa Callahan, senior claims attorney, shared how participants really enjoyed the activity. “Everyone was laughing and having a great time,” she said.

Despite everyone’s best efforts, Patrick Mahoney, Divisional Vice President of the Executive Underwriting team ultimately took home the win and new office title of “Axe Throwing Champion!”

Erin Murphy, Production Underwriter

Erin Murphy, a Production Underwriter on the National Underwriting team, expressed how it was a nice way to de-stress and wind down.

She said, “It was fun seeing everyone cheering each other on. We are still talking about it in the office—laughing at the pictures and discussing when we are going to go again!”

Overall, this was another successful team bonding event. We look forward to our next adventure!
