Environmental in the Community: Giving Back for the Holidays

The holidays are a perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek out opportunities to better the ones around us. As a special way to give back to the community and spread holiday cheer, Great American Environmental took part in numerous volunteer opportunities and made charitable contributions to a number of organizations.

Boston Office

The Boston office volunteered at Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization that works to help children in poverty obtain clothing and other essential day-to-day items. Our team had the opportunity to once again roll up our sleeves and assist in sorting the donation items as Cradles to Crayons geared up for its additional holiday donations.

“Our team was stationed in the shopping section, where we would gather items on a shopping list and conduct a final quality check. We were the last stop and set of eyes for the operation. In two hours, we were able to fill two large orders, which ended up being about nine carts. It was a great way to give back and see the impact just two hours could make!” – Sarah Boucherka, Associate Underwriter

Exton Office

The Exton office had the opportunity to continue our tradition of making charitable contributions to Home of the Sparrow and the Chester County Food Bank this holiday season. The Home of the Sparrow specializes in preventing homelessness amongst women and children as well as provides additional educational and support resources for women in need. The Chester County Food Bank was created to address the escalating issue of hunger in the community. The organization provides over three million pounds of food to those with limited or uncertain access to adequate food supply.

New York Office

The New York office made a contribution to Robin Hood, a nonprofit organization that specializes in fighting poverty across New York City. The organization funds more than 100 programs to prevent poverty and assist those in need.

Cincinnati Office

The Cincinnati office had to opportunity to volunteer at the Brighton Center, an organization with a mission to help families reach self-sufficiency through support services. The organization provides a wide range of programs and services which include meeting basic needs, adult and early childhood education, workforce development, substance abuse recovery for women, affordable housing, financial education and counseling, youth services as well as neighborhood-based programs. Our team had the opportunity to assist in fulfilling the holiday wish lists of families in need by shopping in the Center’s gift shop.

We look forward to continuing our support for local charities in 2022!
