Accidents happen! When a chemical or fuel spill occurs, you need to take immediate action. The logistics and regulatory burdens to clean up a spill can be broad, complicated and overwhelming.

Great American Environmental Division’s Response & React Program (R&R) is specifically designed to help policyholders quickly and efficiently navigate the response plan from the moment a spill occurs to the final site approval. Having a response program in place assures peace of mind during critical situations, allowing your clients to prepare to take immediate action.

The following success story demonstrates how our R&R Program can enables businesses to effectively and efficiently manage emergency spill risks that may threaten their financial security.

  • A manufacturing facility was performing routine ink production. During the pigment dispersion stage, a large amount of ink was released when the three-roll mill malfunctioned. The contaminated spill migrated from the manufacturer’s property into a retention pond. Luckily, the manufacturing facility was insured by Great American Environmental Division and had full access to its 24-hour Response & React Program – a network of over 1,000 prequalified environmental professionals who help coordinate and manage a rapid and cost effective response to emergency spills. Due to the efficient and expert remediation efforts, the spill was controlled and minimum expenses were incurred.
  • A road contractor was performing routine line painting along an interstate highway, when suddenly, the contractor’s truck was struck by another vehicle and overturned. As a result, the contents of the tank leaked onto the roadway, down a nearby embankment and into a waterfowl conservation area. The local fire department immediately responded. The insured, working with their Great American claims professional, immediately called the 24-hour Response & React Program. Environmental remediation professionals were dispatched to the site quickly and as a result, gained the confidence and support of both local and state environmental regulators. The team was able to contain and complete the cleanup of the spill in a cost efficient and timely manner.
